Make public links in Dropbox download automatically
With a follow on to Dropbox having to be the best free app on the web comes a hand tip for using this superb service. There is an option of sharing files via your own personal link available on the public internet which is excellent for sharing with your friends, ie MP3s, PDF's, test files. However for the less savvy internet users this can lead to problems in downloading the file.
As a standard Dropobx opens the file in the browser window. By tweaking the link the file will download to their computer automatically instead. Simply add ?dl=1 to the end of the link Dropbox gives you. This will only work with files you have in the public folder.
